Our Crew at Even Keel
The services at Even Keel are exceptional, and so are the employees. They are a close knit family that care as much about each other as they do you. Finding the right person to add to our family can take a lot of time, that must be why we choose to stay together for years and years!
MEET OUR CREW
Alexa is the owner of Even Keel, a Licensed Massage Therapist, National Strength Professional Association Personal Trainer, Yoga Instructor and current Chair of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (12/13). She is a graduate of the Baltimore School of Massage and the Lotus Palm School of Thai Yoga Massage in Montreal Canada. She has been practicing massage for nine years and enjoys learning something new everyday. Although her specialty is Thai Massage she finds herself mixing many modalities from myofascial to deep tissue, neuromuscular, orthopedic, guided meditation and energy work. What you might not know.....she was a CPA for fifteen years before she opened her practice. She truly believes it's all about balance, left brain, right brain, eastern, western.
What a joy for our clients to experience Kylie's talented hands for both their massage and skin care needs. For over 5 years at the Keel Kylie has become a close part of many of our lives. A graduate of Von Lee International School of Esthetics and AACC's Massage Associates program, she balances the body from the inside out. Whether is it relaxed muscles or clearer skin, Kylie finds joy in her clients leaving with a big, relaxed smile. If you are in a hurry try Champissage, and your scalp will thank you! If she isn't working hard at the Keel you can find her chasing her nieces and Nephews, sweating it out in Bikram, or perhaps just cuddled up with a book and a glass of wine.
After six years, Michele is not an employee, she is immediate family! A Baltimore School of Massage Graduate and Esthetician from the Chesapeake School of Esthetics, if you don't feel great, Michele will just keep on working until you do. She loves to learn both Western and Eastern modalities, from Deep Tissue to Shin Tai, Champissage to caring for clients with Cancer, her desire to help is never ending. Michele somehow she finds time to care for everyone including her family (of three great boys) and even sneaks off to Germany to see Oma. "Making a Difference", that is her tag line.
The moment Kelli graduated from AACC in 2006 the Keel surrounded her and took her hostage. We knew she was a gem the moment we met her and she has been with us ever since. When she isn't at the Keel she is either working at the College or taking classes in sports massage, myofascial, kinesiology, table thai and so on. She even finds time for her five, that's right five children. Sometimes she needs to escape and she finds walking a joy, she even walked 500 miles across Spain. She also enjoys a little yoga or sipping tea over the Washington Post. She claims nothing is more of a blessing than improving the quality of someone's life through massage and her clients certainly agree!
If you are looking for deep therapeutic work, Corinne is the one for you! Her education began in California at Vitality College of Healing Arts and was completed right here in Annapolis at AACC. After four years at the Keel, clients line up for her hands that combine modalities from myofascial, trigger Point, TMJ, pregnancy and massage for the elderly. A successful day for Corinne is one where she has used her talents to help someone's body, mind and spirit. When not massaging you can find her absorbed in her photography and artistic talents.
A never ending fan of education, you can always find Heather massaging with one hand and researching with the other. A graduate of the Baltimore School of Massage, her passion lies in orthopedic, therapeutic and deep tissue massage. While currently working towards her degree in Acupuncture, in between chapters she likes to sing, read, play the piano, practice yoga and spend time with friends and family. Each day working closely with individuals, she cherishes being able to assist people in helping to heal themselves.
Another AACC graduate, we certainly love that school! Here is a therapist that you can't get enough of, Alexa wants her to live at her house just to be surrounded by her positive energy! Rivaling her great energy, are her amazing hands, that enjoy sports massage and love a challenge. Be careful though, she also loves to cook and she may send you home with a recipe, a hand knitted sweater or seeds from her garden. She secretly listens to Public Radio (maybe a side show is in her future) but Holistic health is her true passion!
Many many years ago (almost 9 to be not exact), Yvonne was the first employee of Even Keel. Yvonne was trained in Arizona, along with her many sports and orthopedic massage talents, she also has Yoga in her bag of tricks. A trained Kundalini instructor, she now is working toward her Registered Yoga Teacher certification with Charm City Yoga. We manage to keep her in the spa at least one day a week no matter how busy she is with her family and yoga. As you can see once you come to Even Keel, you can't leave...
After eight and half years Alexa finally has found someone to tell her how to do it right! A young woman with an old soul, Megan enhances the spa with her many talents. She started back in 2007 as a trained Esthetician, was educated at the Fashion Institute of Technology, has immeasurable interior design talents and reads as many business books as she can get her hands on. With a left brain, right brain balance she helps enhance the Even Keel smiles by working behind the scenes to make every client's experience memorable, comforting and loving. When you are not looking, she likes to laugh until she cries, leave heads up pennies for other people to find, loves flip flops like all Annapolitans and searches for a good cup of coffee everyday. Simple pleasures shouldn't be rare, they should be daily occurrences!
She is the smiling face at the front desk who can work magic with our schedule and is always finding just the right spot to fit you in! Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and a blue water sailor for many years, she met her husband Harry (an Annapolitan) in Panama and is now proud to call Annapolis her home. Grace is an avid quilter and most of her spare time is spent on a variety of needle arts.
